The ocean is dark and full of secrets, and sometimes, those secrets are revealed in the most unexpected way possible! It’s not uncommon for weird gigantic sea monsters to wash up on the shore of a beach or show up to haunt the locals, but more often than not, these creatures are so bizarre that it’s almost difficult to think they actually exist.
That’s why you need to see the videos yourself to believe what we’re about to tell you! There have been instances of giant squids stranded on the beach and then there are jellyfish that are literally 120 feet long! Can you imagine this 50-foot creature found on a beach in Indonesia is actually real? Here are the 10 largest sea monsters ever washed up on shore – let’s have a look!
Humongous Oarfish

The giant oarfish is known as the king of the herring and its size is just one of the many reasons behind that title! Usually, they are deep-sea fish but when the oarfish is about to die, it’s very common for it to come to the surface and live out its last sick days on the shore.
Here’s one gigantic oarfish that was filmed on a shore in Baja, Mexico by a group of tourists kayaking on the trip. The oarfish was around 15 feet each, which is much larger than most fish we’re used to seeing. Because of their remarkable size, they made for a truly spectacular sight!
Rare Giant Squid

This 13.7-foot-long deep-sea dweller was found stranded on a beach along Britannia Bay in southwest South Africa, and it might just be the biggest squid you’ll ever see. It’s much larger than your average squid, which explains why regular beachgoers were left absolutely shocked when they came across it.
If the size doesn’t terrify you, the tentacles of the squid are sure to get the job done! Apparently, the creature seemed to be dying when people took notice of it. According to one of the witnesses who caught footage, it was still pumping out ink and the tentacles still had some force in them, only for it to eventually die out. Scientists claim the creature, despite its enormous size, was probably no older than 2 years old!
